回答: 你说骡子车20迈恒速不如55迈恒速 由 HunHunSheng 于 2005-10-13, 20:49:21:
I said, constant speed, ideal situation,
hybrid has no advantage over internal combusion only
model (other things equal). In these situation,
55mph seems to be the optimal speed. Therefore,
55mph should have better mileage than 20mph, hybrid
 or not.
In reality, due to less than ideal situation.
hybrid 走走停停 can get better mileage than
highway speed. However, you can not compare
hybrid 走走停停 with that 55mph ideal situation
because it is not comparing results from the
same experiment. IF, one can run an hybrid
at 55mph very smoothly, one should get a very very
good mileage that will surpass local mileage.
This is proven in one of the test drive
that one goes 300 miles nonstop in a Prius
 averaging 55 miles per galon.
The major contribution of hybrid is two folds:
 1) In the most common 走走停停 case, it has very
very good mileage, even better than highway
    走走停停;
 2) It generates much less exhause. In the case
of Prius, in London, the exhause air is CLEANER
than intake air due to car's air filter !!!
