If one invention disclosed on day 1 was granted US
patent, another similar invention disclosed on days
later than day 1 would have difficulties getting patent
granted in other countries, esp those with close IP laws
with US. US patent can also be used to challenge
patents granted by other countries with later disclosure
days.

Patents are used to protect markets, often times
companies simultaneously file disclosures and applications in major markets.
